If you're anything like us, you'll most likely have a mountain of books that you just never get around to reading, and we bet you just keep adding to it. Well, that's where thestoryinside comes in - have someone choose your next book for you!

The process is simple: join the community, and each month sign up to be partnered with a buddy, who will then choose a book from your 'to read' list. At the end of each month there will be a community post to discuss your thoughts on the book(s) you read!

You do not need to take part every month! You must be a member of the community, but you don't need to sign-up every month. Also, please don't worry if you sign up and half way through the month you've been unable to read any of your chosen books - it happens to us all from time to time, so don't worry! This is for fun, remember!

Of course, with every community, we have to have some rules:
• You must join the community to take part, but you do not need to take part every month, so please don't feel pressured. Membership does not mean you are signed up for each month's activities, so please watch out for sign-up posts.
• You must have a 'to read' list that is public (ie. Goodreads, a Tumblr post, a LJ post, Google doc, etc.) as your buddy needs to be able to pick from your list.
• Please ensure you have a few books on your list. If there are any books you can't read for whatever reasons, you'll have the opportunity in the sign up post to let us know. It would also be helpful to have a good mixture of genres on your list.
• If you sign up but then realise you can't take part (meaning, you can't choose for your partner), please let a mod know ASAP so we can remove you from the sign-ups.

How it works:
We're going to vote for 2 genres and 2 themes, so that gives us more options. The 4 options with the most votes will be the choices for May. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact myself, copulates or comment in our suggestion post.

Also:
• our May discussion is live!
• you can find genre/theme help here.

voting

How it works:
Okay, taking into consideration all the feedback from the suggestion poll, we've revised our voting a little. Whilst the majority like having a genre chosen for them, some feel it makes it more difficult for those who perhaps have less of a genre mix in their TBRs. So, for a trial period, we're going to vote for 2 genres and 2 themes, so that gives us more options. The 4 options with the most votes will be the choices for May. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact myself, copulates or comment in our suggestion post

Hi, it's your other mod Sarah/copulates! I figured I'd post this month's discussion post a little early in case anyone was finished with their books already and wanted to share their thoughts on them. Don't worry if you're still reading! You still have some time before the month is over, and this post will be open for you if and when you want to contribute. Even if you didn't get around to reading any of your selected books, or opted out of participating this month, you're still welcome to take part in the discussion post.

Okay, so a lot of you have expressed an interest in books swaps/giveaways, so here's a post for you to list them!

Some rules:
+ hardbacks, paperbacks, and e-books are allowed
+ if you are asking for a book that is being offered, you need to be okay with giving that person your postal address - DO NOT POST IT PUBLICLY ON THE COMMUNITY. Do it via PM or email.
+ if you are asking for P+P or paying P+P, it must be done via Paypal for your own safety. Again, DO NOT POST IT PUBLICLY. Do it via PM or email.
+ please be sure to stay in contact with each other when sending/receiving
+ please let the sender know when you have received the book
+ e-books can obviously be sent via email

As we're still on fresh ground here, the rules are liable to change. If you have any issues or suggest, please go here or PM a mod.

If you're offering books, please copy and paste this into the comments:
